FAQ: BioPods Stimsole Sneakers
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Indiegogo!

What Sneaker Model should I choose?

All Biopods® Stimsole Sneaker Models (Classic lace-up, Urban slip-on, and Urban Flex slip-on with laces) provide the same optimal stimulus and promote the healthy dynamic movement required for healthy foot and leg function.

First up, the Classic: This is the only Model with a tongue and lace closure over top of the foot. It works well for moderate to higher intensity multipurpose use: standing, walking, hiking, even running. If you have very high arches and have trouble with slip-on styles, this is the shoe for you!

Next, we have the Urban Flex: This is a slip-on with adjustable laces. It also works well for moderate to higher intensity multipurpose use, such as standing or walking, and the lacing helps secure your heels back into the heel pockets during multi-directional sports and when hiking. It provides the added option of waterproofing for a nominal charge.

Finally, we have the Urban: This is the sleek, slip-on for casual activity that provides the added option of waterpoofing for a nominal charge. The Urban works best for lower intensity activities, including standing and walking.

All three Sneaker Models are customized to fit with a full menu of mix and match upper and outsole colour options that will be collected at the close of the campaign.

What is the size range for the sneakers and how will they be customized for fit?

The smallest “shoe” size will be Ladies’ US 6 up to the largest size, Men’s US 16. However, the sneakers will actually be made according to each backer’s width, arch, and volume measurement per foot, within that range. This information will be requested at campaign’s close via a foot measurement and colour selection survey to determine the specific fit and colour for each pair of sneakers. If you back two or more pair, they do not have to be the same size or colour combo.

Can BioPods® Stimsole Sneakers help with my problem?

as noted below, Kickstarter’s policies do not allow us to speak to specific conditions on Kickstarter: “Projects that imply or claim that they can diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent an illness or condition (whether via a device, app, book, nutritional supplement, or other means) are not allowed on Kickstarter.” However, you can access information on how BioPods Stimsole technologies can help with a wide range of foot-related lower limb, hip, and back problems on the BioPod.com’s website’s Conditions page: https://www.biopods.com/conditions Please note that Stimsole Sneakers are not an instant fix. With regular use, they work like a therapeutic exercise program to retrain and maintain your personal level of healthy function. WHAT Stimsole Sneakers WON’T WORK FOR: If you have fused toe-metatarsal joints, you should consult with your healthcare professional before trying Stimsole Sneakers. Due to the Sneakers’ flexibility in the toe area, stresses can be created on fused toe-metatarsal joints.

How do the colour selections work?

At the same time you provide your foot measurements, you will be asked to provide your colour selections from the pallette of colours displayed on the Indiegogo campaign page. You will have several colours to choose from for the uppers and two colours for the outsoles for each pair of sneakers. There will be an option to add an additional “wish-list” colour - if we have enough requests for it, we will be able to provide it.

Are the outsoles slip-resistant and durable?

While the EVA used in the outsoles is slip resistant in regular walking environments, we have not had the material tested and certified for industrial slip resistance. The EVA has been tested for durability, both in wear testing and in abrasion testing, which rendered a coefficient of 28.7 milligrams – the lower the number, the more durable the material – which is outstanding, since other materials tested showed an average of 83.6. To pass, any outsole can’t exceed 300 mg abrasion resistance.

What Widths are available?

There will be two widths available - one for narrow & regular feet and one for wide & extra wide feet. Your right width will be selected for you in response to measurements you’ll be asked to provide in a survey at the end of the Kickstarter campaign.

What is Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is a launchpad for creators to raise funds for the initial production of their invention. Backers (that’s you!) can support the creator by pre-ordering the product at a discounted price.

Last updated: May 24, 2021 14:12

What does it mean to back a project (pledge)?

When you back a project, you’re pre-ordering the product. That means you’ll get it once it’s produced. Besides getting the product itself, you’re also joining a community. Follow along the production process, take part in important surveys, and give the creator valuable feedback.

Last updated: May 24, 2021 14:12

How do I pledge?

In order to pledge, click that green button that says “Back this project.” You’ll get to select your shipping country and choose your desired pledge level and reward.

Last updated: May 24, 2021 14:12

When is my money collected?

Your money will be collected only after the project ends on Thursday, June 17, 2021. If the project is cancelled for any reason, you won’t be charged.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
